Linux creator Linus Torvalds has stepped into a desktop war, expressing a preference for the K Desktop Environment over GNOME, and accusing the developers of the latter project of being "interface nazis".
Torvalds made his comments on a mailing list devoted to usability issues in the GNOME desktop, in response to a post on the printing dialogue utility in GNOME.
KDE and GNOME are the two most widely used desktop environments by Linux users and any debate on the merits of one over the another often arouses strong emotions.
