This staff member of ourtweaks.com is risking a lot by telling you the truth about Ubuntu Dapper Drake (hereinafter called Ubuntu) because I'm sure ourtweaks.com will lose some visitors after reading this article. So, please keep an open mind and hear what this ourtweaks.com staff member has to say. I want to make it clear that (1) I am not the person who runs ourtweaks.com and (2) I have the utmost respect for the Ubuntu developers and its fan base who take time to help out other people.
I'll bet you are wondering why I would try to hurt Ubuntu. Well, the answer is simple: The Ubuntu fan base outside of their own Ubuntu forums (oddly enough) just love to tell blatant lies about Ubuntu. Their newest tactic is pretty clever, I admit, and that's what got me to install Ubuntu. They like to claim Ubuntu is like Firefox and, of course, Windows XP is like Internet Explorer. Their main meaning is that while Ubuntu might take awhile to get used to, soon you will realize how much better it is and you will end up only using Ubuntu. I go hey... at first I didn't like Firefox but it grew on me and now it's the only browser I use... so maybe I should be giving Ubuntu a try. They also love to say you can run Win 98, Win XP, etc. in Vmware in Ubuntu... so now I'm "sold" and I'm installing Ubuntu. As you will read below my one week with Ubuntu was a nightmare.
