First of all, the first cooker snapshot should be ready for Monday, Dec. 11: David Barth's message.
It will include: the development version of GNOME 2.17.x, the latest KDE 3.5.x, Firefox 2.0, and more!
* 2007.0 Core Update #1 should provide patches and fixes not only for users of Cooker, but also for users of the official 2007.0. Esfa believes the Core Update #1 CD should be available for Christmas.
* Drakxtools were split to allow separate updates.
* Rpmdrake & net_applet & urpmi updates!
* GRUB is the new default instead of LILO!

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
