'Twas the night before Christmas

Filed under
Humor

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring, just my USB mouse;

The wife and the children are all settled in bed, As I sit at my desk scratching my head.

And while I'm sorting out my thoughts, Music is streaming over Rhythmbox.

The kids enjoyed beating me at Kbattleship. They also think Gcompris is quite a trip.

But TuxPaint is their clear winner. A great little program for little beginners.

Now with everyone in bed, the computer is mine. But there are so many choices, so little time.

A CD on the desk is calling to me, Perhaps now's the time to try PC-BSD.

Full Story.

Existing users of the testing stream will find, on checking, that their systems have been migrated over to systemd. Systems running the stable version of Debian have not been migrated across yet. Uselessd: A Stripped Down Version Of Systemd

The boycotting of systemd has led to the creation of uselessd, a new init daemon based off systemd that tries to strip out the "unnecessary" features. Uselessd in its early stages of development is systemd reduced to being a basic init daemon process with "the superfluous stuff cut out". Among the items removed are removing of journald, libudev, udevd, and superfluous unit types. Read more
