Setting Up a Telnet Server in Ubuntu
A terminal emulation program for TCP/IP networks such as the Internet. The Telnet program runs on your computer and connects your PC to a server on the network. You can then enter commands through the Telnet program and they will be executed as if you were entering them directly on the server console. This enables you to control the server and communicate with other servers on the network. To start a Telnet session, you must log in to a server by entering a valid username and password. Telnet is a common way to remotely control Web servers.

re: Telnet - Hahahahahahahaha
Looking forward to his next article "How to run with Scissors" and "Trimming your Eyelashes with a Small Gas Powered Chainsaw".
Lets say it together: "When it comes to Telnet - JUST SAY NO!".
re: Telnet - Hahaha
I thought about you when I linked to that.

You talk the talk, but do you waddle the waddle?
re: Telnet - Hahahah
I found the irony of Telnet on Ubuntu (home of the "our users are too stupid to figure out root" distro) to much to pass by un-commented.
And odd article
I'm sure most techie people know that using Telnet isn't secure...And so does the author of the article! (Read the last paragraph, they recommend using SSH).
So the question is: Why bother with an article about Telnet in the first place? (especially those who are just starting out with Ubuntu!)
Why not just make aware that Telnet exists, and it shouldn't be used?
Most Ubuntu folks are from Windows. They have little clue about Telnet and the potential issues it will bring. (Hell, you wouldn't even enable Telnet service on Windows!)
I think its just unwise and irresponsible to give people ideas on doing stuff that is equivalent to giving them a gas can to put out a fire.
