1-Kubuntu: all works out of the box with the cutting edge software, but buggy video card configuration (xconf)
2-MEPIS: excellent utilities, excellent hardware detection, huge stability, but old repository
3-PCLinuxOS: radically simple, huge stability, but inappropiate for a mobile user
4-VectorLinux: for advanced user, but very fast
5-openSUSE: speedy, all works, but so bloat... yaaawn!
