Linux recipes and cooking with microwave oven ?
Theory of microwave heating up the food must be explained in terms of impedance and energy absorption and conduction of current in the food. The trick in microwave cooking is use medium heat, 500 watts. If you use 1000 watts, the food will be over cooked and hard as rubber. Defrost uses 250 watts or less and a long time, so that food is not cooked.
Microwave cooks water the best, because of 212 degrees of steam controls the temperature of food. when water evaporate then oil can cook to over 1000 degrees of temperature, depending on weyght and size of mass. So, cover is used in microwave cooking to retain water content in proportion to oil, to maintain temperature control.
Now that you know the secrets of microwave cooking, lets try a few recipes.
Potato can be cooked 9 minutes at 500 watts. Place potato on a piece of paper to absorb moisture under the potato. Cook. and let it rest after cooking to observe the shrinkage of size, skin came loose, and paper is moist. Peel off skin and taste the intense potato taste, because water is cooked out.
Boil eggs in it own paper container. Cook at 500 watts power. Large eggs take one minute each. 4 eggs 4 minutes. Paper container for egg transportation, prevents eggs from over heating and explode in microwave ovens.

Recipe to cook hot dogs or meatloaf in microwave oven ?
Hot dogs are long and slender, not good for microwave field as a resistor. Ends are always overcooked. So when you have to cook hot dogs, you have to have it cut shorter or have several to place them in any circle of radius, large or small.
Then use 500 watts, and 20 seconds for each regular hot dog. Cut the cross section to see that microwave cooks from the circumference to the center, to adjust the seconds needed for each regular hot dog, in the exact time needed to cook to perfection.
The best meat loaf container is a donut shaped paper or plastic microwave container. If you see one for sale in the department store, buy it for your microwave cooking. Using circular inductance designed food container is the best evenly cooked microwave way. Microwave then cooks from the skin to the center evenly. Set the time to have cooking all the way to the center. meatloaf of beef takes 6 minutes per pound medium well done. Lamb meat loaf takes 10 minutes per pound well done at 500 watts.
Meatloaf recipe is hamburger raw meat, add bread crumbs as filler, egg if desired, salt and pepper to taste. Some can also add condiments such as relish or onions or dices potato?

A cheap way to make a solid piece of meat into an electric donut, is to use a knife and cut a cross in the middle of the meat. This creates a microwave current path that circles around the cut cross. You can of course cut a hole with the knife, but a cross is more effective, and no meat removed, when you experiment? Whole chicken or turkey has a cavity in the body, which helps cooking in microwve oven.
Roasting in microwave oven ? and more ?
Roasting any meat in microwave oven has the problem of steaming the surface of the large piece of meat. So, you have to use a Kleenex cover to absorb the oil and water on the surface. Then the oil in the paper heats up and give you a browned meat(but not crisp skin).
Very good on roast Turkey and Chicken. Can be used on beef, pork and lamb, too.
Have you tried an oil absorbent cover idea, baking cakes in microwave oven? some day I have to learn how to bake a cake in microwave? Do I have to cut a cross in the middle of the uncooked cake? It is always important to keep in mind that in microwave cooking the utensils must be very light in weight, so that you don't have to take time to cook the utensil to temperature needed to cook the food?

Secret of Microwave cooking ? Why 500 watts only ? Overdone ?
Very few people buy 500 watt microwave oven. Its too small. But the truth is that 500 watts is best to cook by the minute if you know the weight of your food.
If you use larger microwave oven, you will overcook your food and nobody likes rubber or explosion in their large oven. So you have to use proportion of power like 50% cooking power for 1000 watt ovens. At 1000 watts the timer is not accurate enough to prevent overcooking by weight estimate.
So, a soft/hard boiled large egg(in paper egg crate to hold more than one egg) takes a minute each. but that is if you use a 500 watt oven. Or 50% power if 900-1000 watt oven is all you have.
500 watts gives you tender cooking, even if you cook the meat right in the package that comes from the supermarket. Never punch holes in packages if you want steam cooking(tender meat). Baking(never tender) means you have to let the steam escape(3/4 inch diameter hole). You can be quite creative with your saved frozen dinner black plastic packages in microwave oven.

50% power is 100% power but 50% duty cycle in time slices; sort of like realtime threads and its duty cycles. Its energy used, 50%, which is absorbed by the food you cooked.
At 500 watts, beef is 6 minute per pound(medium); lamb, chicken and pork are 10 minutes per pound(well done). Fish is 3 minutes per pound(firm). Then you season to taste or add condiments.
