Here's a quick video of my first test case of a "Topaz" style dialog in my AWN Monitor applet. I had to create a patch for the core AWN codebase in order to get the position tracking stuff to work...its not perfect but it works. Most of the graphic glitches are from xvidcap doing the capture though not from the actual application.

What's happening technically is there is an animation loop that re-centers the GtkWindow that is the icon bar. During that loop I'll send out position coords across the dbus to the applets that run in a separate process and have the applet reposition its opened dialogs.
