Just when I was sure that I had seen just about every sort of means of distributing open source software, the concept of the Freedom Toaster rolled into my inbox. Based on the idea that open source software should be made readily available to those in need, the distribution center/kiosks from Mark Shuttleworth and the Freedom Toaster team are here with another innovative product in the market.
Mainly only seen in parts of Africa, some have said that the concept could be making its way overseas. Perhaps even here in the States, where Windows rules as the dominating OS.
Considering that the nature of the Freedom Toaster is about making sure open source software is available to anyone who might want it, does this mean this concept can only be charitable work?
