Reverse Linux Compatibility List

This is a list of hardware that does not have support on Linux and needs Linux kernel drivers written for them.

If the device you are concerned about only works with a proprietary driver, that does not count as proper Linux support; please list it here, and note the existence of the proprietary driver as it may provide useful resources for writing a Free Software driver. This includes network cards only supported by ndiswrapper and a Windows driver.

Noncompatibility list is only tip of iceburg ? Useless list ?

A huge list, but many are not even mentioned. It is obvious, over the years of component building, the list is much more than an individual can summarize. So, this list calls for more contribution to the list.

Fundamentally, some devices were never popular, so few users can just replace the devices with more popular ones or use windows drivers they already have and ndiswraper. Not using ndiswrapper is foolish.

Some of the drivers called for are already obsolete in speed and power; such as some of the 802.11 devices(many had function beyond the standard specifications when the industry was pioneering the wireless devices). Today, 802.11N standard is still being worked on.

So, specifications and total units in existance, will prevent drivers being done even in open sourced community. People just never laid their eyes on some devices; let alone seen the specifications.
