Everex launches $400 laptop running gOS Linux

verex makes a lot of low-cost systems these days; including the CloudBook. The CloudBook is a competitor to the Asus EeePC but has several different features. This is not that laptop. This laptop is a full-size 15.4″ model running gOS Linux version 2. It’s specs are relatively unimpressive but at $400, it’s hard to complain.

The Everex VA1500V laptop features a 15.4″ display with a resolution of 1440 x 900 which is rather impressive considering it’s “budget” pricing. It ships with 512MB of memory and a 60GB hard drive; running the show is a VIA C7-M processor at 1.5GHz. You will find a Via Chrome9 graphics chip, so no gaming for you; not that you could play games anyway.
