DNA expert called in to Reiser trial
A DNA expert for the defense team in the Hans Reiser murder trial said it is difficult to say how and when a small sample of blood was left on a post in the living room of Reiser's home.
Reiser's defense team called Keith Inman, a senior forensic scientist at a private firm to the stand Thursday, breaking up testimony from Reiser himself who has been on the stand for nine days.
Inman said in his opinion some of the blood on the post could have been left as a result of many things - including a cut, wound or a nosebleed. Reiser himself earlier testified his wife, Nina, popped a blood vessel in her nose at the home.
Testing has shown the blood on the post matches the DNA of Nina Reiser. It also showed there was another DNA sample, that likely belonging to Hans Reiser.
