Linux Advances In Europe's Schools And Governments

Hundreds of schools in Italy switch their Windows XP Computers to Linux. Over 16,000 students have joined the migration, known as the FUSS project. Many computers will be installed with the Gnome desktop environment. Christopher Gabriel, chief technical officer at Truelite SRL, was very happy with this major project: "All the teachers will use this software, and the FUSS Project will print and distribute about 20,000 CDs to the students' families so they can install the software at home," he said.
