Mandriva Linux One 2008 Spring XFCE: a community achievement
You know what Mandriva is; you know what XFCE is; you know what a community means; now it's time to acknowledge some good results.
I will maintain that my usual approach towards "community editions" as opposed to "official projects" is full of circumspection: why isn't that flavor officialized, if it's a good one? This question can be asked to various project that feature "community/unofficial editions", from PCLinuxOS to Linux Mint. How about Xfce Mandriva One?
We could find a specific excuse to the non-official character of the XFCE flavor of Mandriva One: after all, Mandriva is a company, not just a group of individuals, so it's only logical to be more difficult to have a supplementary project accepted as official.
I won't link to myself in this post, because I want to try it and make your own mind about this achievement of the Mandriva community, and here's some of the reasons why you should do it:
