What to expect from Ubuntu 8.10

With the release of Ubuntu Hardy Heron now behind us, most eyes are turned to October when Intrepid Ibex, or Ubuntu Linux 8.10, will make its debut. While Hardy Heron was designed to be stable enough to be a long-term support release, Intrepid Ibex promises to be packed with more exciting features, something that Ubuntu fans always enjoy.

Among those changes are likely to be a number of mobility improvements as well as more flexible Internet connectivity. On the desktop there is also likely to be a refreshed desktop theme which has been in the pipeline for the past two releases.

Announcing plans for Ubuntu 8.10 earlier this year Ubuntu chief, Mark Shuttleworth, said that “a particular focus for us will be pervasive Internet access, the ability to tap into bandwidth whenever and wherever you happen to be. We want you to be able to move from the office, to the train, and home, staying connected all the way”.

re: What to expect...

Most if not all of the current bugs in 8.04 to still be present? More shades of brown? Another ridiculously stupid version name? More drooling and obnoxious fanboys thinking that Unoobtu IS Linux? Bigger and better SUDO commands? Twice the features and half the performance? Mirrors that die even sooner then they did this time?

How are we expected to enjoy summer with all this anticipation?

Whooua...

What kind of un-constructive childish nonsense are manchine on vonskippy crapping out !

Buhuhuhu...
You havent gotten any idear what Different Distroe's mean, do you ?

Ubuntu has show'n the right way to go, if Linux is ever gonna make it out in the real world, on average people's desktops.
Having tryed sevaral distroes in my time, the only one somewhat close to Userfriendlyness is SuSE, but Ubuntu is way ahead.
You don't like the brown color?
I don't either, but functionality is so much more than a color. A color I can easely change.

So grow up, kids !
If you'r personal favorite distro is not "King of the World", maybe there is a reason for that..., right ?
