Why should your office use Linux?

For some people they don’t really think about what OS is installed in their computers. However, if you’re one of the decision makers of the company, you will think about this problem carefully. There are actually many reasons why you should use Linux in your office and I could list some of them.
* Given that your employees will have some training when it comes to using software installed on their computers, they could be as productive as if they’re using other operating systems and applications.
* Free software gives them a variety of choices. They could look for various alternatives for specific computing needs.

re: Why should your office use Linux
Yet another article from a linux noob who failed Business 101.
I pay my employees to WORK, not to "give them a different way of experiencing computing".
Compared to the workers salary (and benefits package), software licensing is one of the cheapest line items on my expense sheet.
I won't even go into the lack of business quality apps, lack of central management, lack of AD integration, compatibility with other businesses and clients, etc. etc. etc.
I don't really care (within reason) what a OS or Application costs - show me the BENEFITS (i.e. more worker productivity) to my business and I (like every other sensible business owner) will switch in a heartbeat.
Linux servers = strong business case. Linux desktops = not even close.
