Community-Powered Open Source Awards Just Got More Open
SourceForge, the leader in community-driven media and e-commerce, today announced the opening of nominations for the third annual SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards. For the first time, all open source projects -- not just those on SourceForge.net -- are eligible. The awards recognize open source projects that have the most supportive community following, and those that the voters believe are built with the highest quality, creativity and ingenuity. There is no panel of experts involved; the Community Choice Awards are truly the "people's choice" awards for open source software.
"We realize the success of open source is bigger than any one repository can contain, even ours," says Ross Turk, SourceForge.net Community Manager. "Open source has become a force to be reckoned with, and we want to recognize the communities that have been responsible for changing that software landscape in such a fundamentally cool way."
