The third alpha version of the upcoming Ubuntu 8.10 (codename Intrepid Ibex), which is scheduled for release in late October this year, was made available a few minutes ago.
Even if it doesn’t come with any significant modification, compared with the second alpha, which brought just a handful of software updates, we wanted
to keep you up-to-date with the latest changes in the Ubuntu 8.10 development. Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 3 comes with a brand new development version of the Nautilus file manager (with tabs) and a new Linux kernel, version 2.6.26-4 (based on 2.6.26). It also includes the following applications:
• Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1
• OpenOffice.org 2.4.1
• The GIMP 2.4.6
