Ubuntu | The glorious future of Linux?
I would like to discuss about it's potential I see coming in the future. Though it is based on Debian Linux, Ubuntu was first released in 2004. The progress it achieved in four years is really phenominal. So let me take you a a brief overview of how things changed so significantly. First of all Ubuntu releases a new version of it's operating system atleast twice a year. Once in April and the other in october. First of all lets look at a screenshot of Ubuntu 4.10 [It means 2004-October].
When I first saw this desktop I was like "Linux can never be in the mainstream Desktop". But things changed so rapidly that now I believe Linux will become a Mainstream Operating system pretty soon. I know that analysts have been telling it since 1998, but I should say there was no single operating system that led this movement. Ubuntu is an operating system that created a lot of interest and people started adopting it so rapidly thanks to the Shipit service.
