EeePC Xandros is Debian, use synaptic or apt-get to download ?
Now, Asus finds out how many users know Linux?
Not many, too many distros use different package systems(RedHat RPM, Debian apt-get, and Slackware targz or tgz). Don't know Xandros from Debian. XP version can be updated by Microsoft auto subscription.
Hope they have popup windows on ASUS website to tell users how to download and install the Debian way. Use synaptic front end to download or straight 'apt-get file name' command. Maybe even show a sample dowload of a small app.
CnR maybe worthless since Xandros is pure Debian and CrossOver. CnR is basically Debian kernel 2.4.x(with over 586 fixes)(RedHat used to fix the kernels over 2100 times to run the apps, not the other way around), with some files adapted to Ubuntu lately. Many are worthless for kernel 2.6.x; many files had no symlink for other distros with different file names(bindings).
I warned ASUS about Linux distributions. Their repository(tested apps copied from Debian repositories) has to have more explanations to learn how to serve users who know less about Linux; lat along Xandros modified version.
SYS 0.23 - full-automatic installation and 17,5 GB software

Version 0.23 of Linux SYS was released on 24/8/2008.
The installation DVD of SYS brings about 5000 or 18 GB applications, more can be downloaded from the repository.
The installation is full-automatical, and needs 15 min. on a modern computer. However, it's convenient to make sufficiently empty space before, because resizing half-full partitions during the installation takes time.
Many programs were substituted by better ones, all were updated: linux 2.6.26.2 and glibc 2.7 compiled with its headers, glib 2.17.7, gcc 4.2.4, gtk+ 2.13.7, pango 1.21.4, cairo 1.7.4, mesa 7.0.3, X 1.4.2, compiz-fusion 0.77, perl 5.8.8, OpenOffice 3.0.0.9339, gimp 2.5.2, alsa 1.0.17, pulseaudio 0.9.10, songbird 0.8rc , banshee 1.2, flashplayer 10rc etc.
Beside of this, SYS will start to provide an always-actualized install DVD called SYS-current. It will make available immediately and in the most uncomplicated manner actual updates and corrections, and normally should be prefered for new installations.
