Martin's hidden blog ;-)

Hopefully Martin won't get upset because of this post, but reading Changelogs is sometimes funnier, bolder and more informative than reading a blog!

From the ChangeLog.txt for ultimalinux-8.4, ultimalinux-8.4.1, ultimalinux-current:

About openoffice-2.4.2:

Thank you, Sun Microsystems: Without your buggy and insecure code, I probably wouldn't be in a job. Not that I do this full-time anyway. Getting back on topic: 2.4.2 was apparently released a few days ago, but I only just saw it in the latest Secunia weekly update. I'm hoping no one will particularly mind the lateness. Smiling Yes, there is a 3.0.0 available, but I'm treating it the same way I've treated Firefox 3, KDE 4, and basically everything except GCC 4.3, which in retrospect was probably a bad idea: The 2.4 series works just fine, and I see no reason to break it with a hasty upgrade.

About httpd-2.2.10:

Three days late, not that anyone uses Ultima as a server anyway. I didn't see any httpd-related issues in the latest Secunia update, but DistroWatch mentioned this, and it's generally good to stay on top of these things.
