New tab?

How about a new tab, instead of a new window?

New Tab?

I am with you, I would also prefer new tab, I usually end the day with a lot of tabs open, but I do not like a lot epiphany windows opened.

re: links

I'd use "same window". Because if you force a "new window" there's no way around it - but if you use "same window" people can always right-click and chose "new tab or new window" whatever they prefer.

Links duality

I find it very distracting. Better to choose one. Smile

re: Links duality

I plan to. It's a bit of a pain to do both. I was kinda waiting for the results of the poll. It looks like "same window" has pulled ahead. It was pretty much even for a while.

No difference

Doesn't matter to me cause I do it from Thunderbird......

Thanks for the hard work!

) So mobile isn't coded on

Smile)
So mobile isn't coded on the site?
I just assumed it was as it just seems to fit.......

same window for me. I

same window for me. I usually open it in a new tab but if I forget, at least I don't have another firefox window open.

Hmmmm. Then again, on my i-phone I prefer a new window.

OK. new window in mobile and same window in 'normal' Smile))

Perhaps php would do the trick?
[append some string to every link, in place of _blank or _new place the string, as in:
a href=”http://www.tuxmachines.org” target=”_myString”>TuxMachines.org]

(add to whatever pages you want the function on)

?php
//sets the string uastring the value of your useragent
$uastring = ($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
//searches your useragent for the text iPhone,
//if it is there set myString the value new.
$strpos (uastring, "iPhone") if !FALSE myString = "new";
else myString = "blank";
?>

(Although the link may not work if its outside the php, I'm not great at php Smile Feel free to correct me!)
