Linpus Linux To Launch QuickOS Next Week

Linux

DeviceVM's SplashTop Linux environment (which we were the first to exclusively share) really was revolutionary in pushing the "instant-on Linux" theme as it was able to boot to its desktop in just a few seconds. Intel has already achieved the ten-second boot with Moblin V2. Next week there will be a new competitor joining the "instant-on Linux" scene and that is Linpus Technologies.

The OS, Debian, is completely open source and to avoid closed software the company has added an Atheros Wi-Fi dongle with open source drivers rather than use the built-in Wi-Fi chip. Read more
