Gentoo, Linux from scratch and thinstation?

I am not a Gentoo fan from day one. It could have been a developers dream, but too uch choises for users. Linux from scratch is more of a teaching tool for Linux system. You can learn and use it at the same time. But thinstation from new zealand points the way to build a distro, by the iso files. All these however may prove to be futile. Because internet is the ultimate network; and browser has to be much more of the operating system than Linux hardware operating system ever can be. Linux is merely hardware drivers and commands to run all the hardware functions. On the other hand, browser handles all the info(information operating system), for which is what computers are built and used.

Too much choices in Gentoo?

The problems with too much choices is that we can make too many mistakes, wasting our time building a distro. Puppy is slowly giving users too many choices, and bugs(conflicts) galore is the result. Linux operating system is slowly being systemized, however. rPath has a system to work with dependency issues. KDE is bringing Konqueror to replace its own window manager. Fedora now uses Hal and Dbus instead of Anaconda or Kudzu for hardware compatibility improvement.Debian is providing repository to do auto-update some day. Udev is the source of hotplug now. Ramdisks are the faster approach to computer architesture design using only hdd repositories. GUI design kits will bring tools of plug-ins to have shared modules in every application program if a toolbar or taskbar is available. You can separate all these ambitious distros; but can they be put together by open source committees such as LCCC and DCCC(some people knew the need for inclusion with a big tent)? Maybe only governments have enough manpower, resources and determination to accomplish such a task? Footnote: Maybe GUI design kit is the only system needed for browser?
