I am not a Gentoo fan from day one. It could have been a developers dream, but too uch choises for users. Linux from scratch is more of a teaching tool for Linux system. You can learn and use it at the same time. But thinstation from new zealand points the way to build a distro, by the iso files. All these however may prove to be futile. Because internet is the ultimate network; and browser has to be much more of the operating system than Linux hardware operating system ever can be. Linux is merely hardware drivers and commands to run all the hardware functions. On the other hand, browser handles all the info(information operating system), for which is what computers are built and used.
