Military-grade workstation braves the elements
Intergraph announced a Linux-compatible workstation designed to withstand punishing environmental conditions for military, industrial, and marine applications. The sealed, solid-state TD-R 7X11R-S series rack-mount workstation supports an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, and offers dual gigabit Ethernet ports.
The TD-R 7X11R-S is completely sealed to prevent air, water, dust, and other contaminants from entering, and the aluminum and steel chassis provides "high strength and extreme durability," says Intergraph. The workstation is claimed to meet or exceed Dept. of Defense specifications for shock, vibration, humidity and temperature (up to 140 deg. F), and is targeted primarily at naval ships, factories, and oil rigs.
Built with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components, the TD-R 7X11R-S comes standard with an Intel Core 2 Duo clocked at 2.2GHz, as well as 2GB DDR2 of sealed memory.
