7 E17 Distributions
KDE4 is not the only desktop environment which provides a sleek eye candy experience. E17 still remains to be one of the only Desktop Environments/Window Manager, which provides a speedy and visually pleasing experience. There are some distributions which use E17 to provide an attractive and speedy operating system, where many seem to be unique compared to many KDE, Gnome and XFCE distributions:
OpenGEU
OpenGEU is an Ubuntu based distribution maintained by the lead developer, TheDarkMaster and other community members. OpenGEU aims to be a friendly and complete distribution with the use of GTK applications and the gnome desktop to provide a fast and attractive OS. OpenGEU provides very pleasing and unique themes (Light and dark) adding a theme manager to provide a better ease of use in changing wallpapers, fonts, icon, gtk, etk, e17, ewl themes etc. Echomorph (A hard hacked compiz WM, providing Compiz effects) is also provided in OpenGEU 8.10.
BSDanywhere
BSDanywhere is an OpenBSD based distribution, with the main purpose of being a LiveCD for specific uses. BSDanywhere “consists of the entire OpenBSD base system (without compiler) plus graphical desktop, an unrepresentative collection of software, automatic hardware detection and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices as well as other peripherals.” This OpenBSD distro is not meant for installing due to the developers aim being to construct a distritbution for complete hardware testing, systems recovery and mobile usage in murky environments.
