TurboLinux and Japanese philosophy ?

TurboLinux 11(of the operating system for IBM 930 mainframe fame) has been released for Japanese language. It now has mosix(SMP load balance modules) in Linux 2.6.x. And it retails for $150.00US with Star office which SunMicro charges $100.00 a copy. The cheaper TurboLinux sells for $50.00US without Star office to compete with Linspire, which sells well in Japan as Linux goes(10% of operating system market). If you ever used Star office, you know its rather skimpy. And everybody knows nobody buys Wordperfect(epidemy of word processors) anymore. Such is Linux development in Japan, where have the bells and whistles gone? Ancestry worship gone too far or a cut in Star office commission too sweet? Footnote: For two or three years now, I have used ThizLinux 7.2(HongKong) which is based on TurboLinux 7.2 and loved it on Fry's great Quality computer.
