Mozilla Firefox 3.6 Project Codenamed Namoroka
Mozilla has announced it’s new Project – Mozilla Firefox 3.6 which is codenamed “Namoroka“, with an intended release target of early-to-mid 2010
Firefox 3.6 or Namoroka will be based on Gecko 1.9.2 with new enhancements and features. The current goals are:
Performance
The time taken for startup, opening a new tabs, and responsiveness with the user inferface will be improved. Common user tasks will feel more responsive and faster. It’s a good news for daily users. The new enhancements will enable Firefox 3.6 to :
* open a new tab
* load a bookmarked page
* autocomplete a location in the Awesomebar
* play rich media content
and will improve the time by 50 milliseconds. Firefox 3.6 will also have an improvement of startup speed – they are looking for speed increases by lessening the startup time by 50ms compared to 3.5 to startup time. Firefox 3.6 will also be implementing animation and other techniques to improve perceive speed and efficiently reduce the lag time between action and feedback.
