Arch Linux + KDEmod: Custom KDE 4.3 Setup
Well, it turns out that every time I try openSUSE, I end up going back to Arch Linux. So back to Arch it was and of course, KDEmod. For those of you don't know, KDEmod is basically a modular version of KDE provided by the developers behind the Chakra project. KDEmod exists as a repository which you can add to Arch Linux and run KDE. Chakra provides a LiveCD of Arch Linux + KDEmod along with some additional tools that integrate well with the system. Chakra is still in the Alpha development stage, so I'd recommend installing Arch followed by KDEmod. If you're new to Arch, you might want to read the Beginner's Guide on the wiki.
So I was fiddling around with my KDEmod setup (currently using the kdemod-testing repo) before the release of KDE 4.3. I'm currently running KDE 4.3 Release Candidate 2 (RC 2). Here are the details of my configuration below a screenshot of my normal desktop.
