It's a girl!
I know a lot of you have been wondering what's going on here, and the news is that my wife Andrea delivered our first child, a daughter Briah Cecilia (briah at slackware dot com on 2005-11-22, and that event (and the weeks that led up to it) has had to take priority over the usual tasks of download/compile/test/package/upload. But, things should be getting back to normal here (more or less) over the next couple of weeks, particularly after the holiday season has come and gone. As you might expect, there are a lot of friends and relatives who want to see her.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
