Linux. Still not ready for the average user.
Every year or so, I fire up a Linux build or two, just to see where we stand on things. Every time I try out Linux, it gets a little better, but is nowhere near the ease of use as Windows. Linux may do well on the server, but on the desktop side, unless you are willing to devote alot of time, effort, and frustration.
One of the first things you will discover about Linux is that the “there are no stupid questions” mantra does not apply. Any question you ask in a forum about a problem you have, unless you have a very strong Linux foundation, will result in you being mocked and talked down to. Reading the forums made me feel bad for people who didn’t know what “sudo” was or “apt-get” did.
So, I have 2 laptops. One is an older Presario, the other is a newer ASUS N10J. Let’s discuss how it works installing Windows 7 (and Vista for that matter).

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources.
