Ask your favorite techies what they want for the holidays, and they'll probably suggest a 50-inch plasma television, the hottest Windows laptop or a 60-gigabyte iPod.

Those hot items cost serious change, particularly when your gift budget is in the double digits. A limited budget doesn't mean you can't please your tech-focused friends or relatives, though.

With $50 as our upper limit, we found dongles, staples, VoIP and cheap protection that will satisfy any techno lover.
