Pentoo Linux for Penetration Testing
Pentoo linux is a Gentoo-based live CD with a selection of apps and tools designed to perform penetration testing. They recently released their 2009.0 version and we thought we'd take it for a spin and share our findings.
Pentoo uses the typical Gentoo boot sequence and once complete, you will find yourself at a command prompt.
It's important to make sure you pay attention to the message that specifies that network connections are down by default. You will need to configure them manually or run dhcp if required.
This distribution wasn't designed for newbies so it's not to be expected that it would do everything by default. Once your network is functional, you can launch Enlightenment in X by using the "startx" command.
