Wow! We've all been completely swamped in feedback since Saturday's beta release. I'm personally surprised how positive it is as a whole. We've gotten a ton of really well-founded gripes, but I think generally people are liking the direction we're going with Gaim 2.0.0. Also important to note is that there are a bunch of things we had suspected were bad or weren't sure about, and we've been able to gauge everyone's opinions about them. On that note, please keep your feedback coming, but there are a few recurring reports we definitely already know about and are working on that you don't need to let us know about anymore:

Relax, it's just Ubuntu 15.04. AARGH! IT'S FULL OF SYSTEMD!!!

Most users will notice very little overall difference in this latest Ubuntu release, but it’s this change that packs the biggest punch. Developers from Canonical explained last week that they intended to rebase the Ubuntu Next flavor (featuring Mir and Unity8) on Snappy, which means that they were also considering moving to a rolling release model, even if it was just for this branch. Read more

Ubuntu dominated the headlines today with its Ubuntu Online Summit for 2015 beginning today. Mark Shuttleworth gave the keynote and informed a loyal public of the new 15.10 lsb_release -a. Elsewhere, Ubuntu 15.04 gets a thumbs-up and is now selling Ubuntu laptops. Read more
