Alex Launi, a GNOME Do developer, has announced that GNOME Do and Docky are now separate applications. GNOME Do was created as a rapid keyboard driven launcher for the GNOME desktop, similar to applications such as QuickSilver for Mac OS X.
Docky, which gives the user a Mac OS X styled dock, was developed initially as a standalone application before being incorporated into GNOME Do as one of a set of selectable plug-in themes.
