Why you should switch to OpenSuse

I have been using Linux for the past 7 years and I have tried many distributions (including the Damn Small Linux which comes in a CD image of size 50 MB). But, for the past 4 years I have been mostly using Ubuntu and Fedora. I liked Ubuntu very much since the community support for the project is very high. And it is based on another popular distribution Debian , which is very reliable.

About, 6 months back I decided to have a permanent copy of one more operating system in my laptop – OpenSuse. And, now I can say that OpenSuse is the best operating system I every used (sorry to disappoint Ubuntu Fans). The simple reason is that it is extremely stable! Unfortunately, I found that Ubuntu is not very stable especially if you mess with the system files. Sometimes if you try to run a KDE application in your GNOME environment, the application may become unresponsive. And while meddling with Kernel drivers, sometimes I get Kernel panic errors while booting up the system. But this not an issue for a typical windows user, since you won’t be performing such stuffs and you will also receive wonderful support from the Ubuntu community.

Moreover, though it is true that even though the stability is not very commendable, it is more stable than any Windows system.
