Linux Mint 8 ‘LXDE’ Edition Review
Linux Mint is, undoubtedly, one of the most popular Linux distributions out there and with this new release, they have further opened the doors to users from every possible situation. Linux Mint LXDE edition is a very welcome edition to the growing number of releases available of the popular distro.
LXDE (website, related news), for those unfamiliar, stands for The "Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment" and is an extremely fast-performing and energy-saving desktop environment.
Let's take a look at how the Mint team have implemented this great desktop.
Like many Linux Mint releases, the desktop is predominantly green (but not annoyingly so) and is a clean and crisp look combining nice fonts and dark panels.
