This has been an exciting week or so in Linux development. openSUSE 12.3 Milestone 0 was released, Mageia 3 Alpha 2 has been delayed, and Dreamlinux calls it quits. In addition, Fuduntu gets a new release, Fedora cleans out Compiz, and Debian was updated to 6.0.6.
On October 3 Jos Poortviet announced the release of openSUSE 12.3 Milestone 0. It came with lots of updates like KDE 4.9.1, Linux 3.6.0-rc7 and Xorg X Server 1.13; but it also included changes like "jpeg-turbo is now the default jpegv8 implementation, jpegv6 is dropped," "Support for OPUS codec added via libopus," and "Mesa updated to upcoming v9 snapshot."
