Why I use...Gentoo?

I've been using Gentoo for some 10 months now. I've recently come to understand why I use it over many of the other distributions out there which I have tried Slackware, SuSE, Ubuntu and Blag to name a few.

Gentoo is a one-time install, well if you ignore hardware failures and so forth which are not any fault of the distribution, due to Gentoo's package manager 'portage' you update all your programs from time to time.
