Desktop era
Good grief. It might very be the best year for Linux adaption alright. But not on the desktop. Oh sure Linux distros will always be around for use on a PC. But the swing now is to the smartphones and tablets. Ubuntu, the big leader in all things Linux, has already developed a touch screen OS for tablets.. Uh huh! And if you've looked at Winblows 8, which is a mediocre attempt at touch screen technology, you already know that's were the future lies. Not on a PC.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
