How many levels of operating system do we need ?

Every one who has operating system knows Windows have WinME, Xp and Xp pro. And Linux has tiny, mini, midi and full blown. Unfortunately, full blown is still full of generic software. If you buy a cd player of a VCR, you have dedicated fully functional equipment. Computer operating system still lags behind in functions, such as automation of repeats, random sequence or sequential programs.

This leads to the concept of embedded systems, where the computer will have a generic Linux kernels, but a very sophisticated application program where it has more choices than a most expensive VCR or DVD.

This level of sophistication require dedication of resources in the computer, therefore only one application will be used. No interference nor conflicts.

Embedded systems are fully automatic, once you plan and program it.
