Why 2.5.75 is not 2.8.x ?

When 2.5.x was proposed, Linux stable was 2.4.22.

Linux 2.5.75 was mostly dealing with how many threads can be installed at the same time and how many minutes all the threads can be closed. The effort missed the purpose of how threads are used in real applications.

The real purpose of threads is to afford many user accounts. This is the theme of threads in realtime applications. Each new user will have a thread and closed when users leave. Think of the longdistance telephone applications.

So, Linux 2.8.x starts with a Posix packet system with one user, then subsequent users coming on will get a redundent thread each. That extra one user can use one more Prex operating system, which expands onto Linux operating system by another thread of Prex, or another user account(sending posix packets) in Linux domain and group of users.

Once the sequence of user priority is know, 2.8.x will be easily accomplished.

How to use 2.8.x Linux as proposed ?

The way to use threads is by user accounts.

If you have a cellphone with prex operating system. You call the central office to get another user, the central office computer give you a thread. Which will connect to another cellphone that you dialed.

Linux 2.8.x will be able to have internal server(prex and bochs will be the console) and have many accounts in as many threads to handle requests(another click of the mouse). Or it can go internet to have search engine results. It can use as many threads as you need for all the different tasks you need.

Linux 2.5.75(year 2003) can create over 750,000 threads in 1 gb dram. and close them all in 2 seconds. Computers since have more power and speed and hyperthreading in cpu hardware. It has to be added package same as 2.6.x, resulting as 2.8.x.

I have waited for Linux community to realize how Linux 2.8.x should work, but the community is still working on splash screens. Only AT&T having a business, had it done over twenty five years ago.

Until some business had a need, work will be done for profit. Linux community has no profit incentives, so work by a whole community is mundane.
