Moroccan fisheries escapes proprietary net
The Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Sea Fisheries (MARDSF), has signed a deal with Liberty Tech to migrate all its servers to Mandriva Linux. The move makes it one of the first Moroccan government departments to take advantage of free software
Technical support will be handled by Mandriva and Liberty Tech through a yearly subscription to the Mandriva Corporate Club.
The MARDSF has had a long-standing policy to migrate its systems to free software and is also considering moving all of its desktop machines to Linux.
