Shuttleworth computer labs ransacked
Two of the computer laboratories set up in Cape Town schools by the Shuttleworth Foundation were ransacked during the three-week school holiday which ended on Friday.
"These were the worst cases ever," said Hilton Theunissen, founder of tuXlabs which, with the support of the Shuttleworth Foundation, were established in 120 schools province-wide.
They stole 17 out of 20 work stations and hard drives and all 20 keyboards from the tuXlab, but could not get to the server which was locked and bolted in a steel cabinet. They also ripped out all of the cabling and conduits, she said.
