When we have the first virtualization, we had virtual memory drams in the hard disk drive swap file. That was virtual memory. Then we had virtual private network using packets.

Now we talk about sophisticated virtualization enterprise system, of storage devices, etc.

Back then, the virtual world was started by AT&T using Unix operating system where posix packets made millions of telephones connections virtually in a few computers. Each private network was a separate thread.

Now, VirtualIron after a few years had v3.0 about to be released. It is not efficient yet using terminals for gui interfaces, working on internet and intranet.

The virtual world is realtime and posix packets. But we have to add security of firewall and trusted sources plus encription. But more likely we need synchronized asynchronous transfer mode to make sure transmission is not lossy.

If you think virtual world is any more than browsers and .net packets, you are getting lost in the virtual forrest.
