Mark Shuttleworth: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Mark Shuttleworth is polishing his image: Reuter's has a story which says «Millionaire cosmonaut takes on Microsoft», and Mark's own blog addresses the Debian/Ubuntu conflictual relationship: «Conflicting goals create tension in communities».
I couldn't possibly trust these sayings.
Ubuntu is not a "scope-narrowed Debian". It is something Mark Shuttleworth wants to make money from. He has made big money once, he will make some more again—this time from Linux. Glory—checked. Money—any time soon.
It is not a crime to make money! But it would be a crime if Debian will be in danger because of that...

Not just hostility, but sanctioning the greedy tycoons
All of you, please read this: http://beranger.org/index.php?article=1080 and provide me with a PROOF that Ubuntu is certified DB2 for any other version that 5.04!
When Canonical says: «The Ubuntu server platform has been certified for IBM's DB2 and MySQL.» you have to notice that the first Server edition of it only appeared with Ubuntu 5.10, so they obviously don't refer to 5.04 (which has not a server edition)...
...but only 5.04 was certified by IBM!
Canonical claims to be "DB2 and MySQL certified" only now, after 6.06 was released. They most likely lie in all the aspects, as they can't provide a URL to prove their claims.
And obviously you don't know what a certification is, why is it important from a business point of view, and how you can't trust a company once you catch them lying.
