Why I finally switched to Ubuntu
My first two months of using Ubuntu were pretty... difficult. Installing Linux on a laptop (for complete beginners) was supposedly a relatively complex task (specially if, like me, you don't like asking questions on forums). So I basically ended up with a pretty buggy installation (less buggy than my Windows partition, even though my laptop is only three months old). I reinstalled Ubuntu, and this time, I looked around for the guides that said specifically: "for absolute beginners/noobs/idiots", and walked through their instructions. Magically, they worked! (I've tried to use the same exact walkthroughs these last to months, and somehow, I kept messing everything up). So I was pretty happy to get my graphics card up and running, my touchpad working, and my dual-core processor optimized. I learned quite a few tips & tricks in the process.
But still, other than my original ideological motivations, what could possibly warrant a definitive switch to Ubuntu (I'd format my Windows partition in a second if it weren't for a few issues I've got with Photoshop)?
