iWave announces Linux 2.6.18 for portable media player applications
iWave Systems, an expert in hand-held design solutions shares another success story by announcing it's latest i.MX27 reference design (iW-RainboW-G3) which has been conceptualised, designed and developed at its Bangalore center aimed at improving end user productivity. This generic hand-held design is targeted to OEMs, who can adopt the design and bring out innovative and cost effective products for various applications like Portable media player, pollution level measurement, and Indusrial PDAs .
Powered by Win CE.Net 6.0 and Linux 2.6.18, iW-RainboW-G3 features 800 x 600 LCD controller, Touch Panel, VGA, and Keypad as User Interface .
The handheld design, having USB 2.0 OTG, Serial port, USB 2.0 Host, Ethernet also caters wireless segments with USB WLAN, SDIO WLAN and IRDA. For storage the platform consists of Flash, SDRAM, SD/MMC, ATA HD, CE-ATA HD, 1 GB of NAND flash and includes Audio in/out, Video in/out, FM, CMOS Camera and Battery.
IWave Systems has many design wins for industrial products based on Intel âPXA255 and PXA270 design and is an ideal choice for manufacturers wanting to get their products out in the week 9 to 20 depending on the end product.
