Mandriva Flash 2007: the unexpected gift
With the current technologies, a 2 GB USB stick is not expensive. This is why Mandriva thought of releasing Mandriva Flash on December 7, and they have chosen a high-quality 2 GB USB stick as a medium for it. I have recently received a complimentary Mandriva Flash for reviewing. I have used it for a few days, and here's what my experiences were.
First of all, I had to make sure my PC boots from "USB-HDD", and I have put this as the first boot option in the BIOS. Should I want to use it with an older computer that is unable to boot from USB, I could insert the stick into any computer, then use the included boot.iso image (2.7 MB) to make a bootable mini-CD. Booting from that CD will "jump" to the USB stick (the CD can be removed as soon as the system is up).
Mandriva Flash is a 32-bit KDE version of Mandriva 2007. It's more like Mandriva One.
